MUSH stands for Multi-User Shared Hallucination, but that doesn't explain much. It's a server that multiple users can connect to and explore a virtual text-based world. This virtual world doesn't have any graphics, but it's very versatile. For example, somewhere in Hogwarts castle is a stairway that actually does lead somewhere different on a Friday! Every part of the Harry Potter books can be replicated in the virtual MUSH environment. What do I need? All you need to explore Harry Potter MUSH is a standard Internet connection and a telnet program. If you use a Macintosh we recommend MacTelnet, BetterTelnet, or NiftyTelnet. They all work fine. The Windows operating system usually has a Telnet client bundled with it, but you can use any other Telnet program you like, including Absolute Telnet. If you're using any variant of UNIX, such as Linux, you don't need any stinking tutorial about telnet, do you? ;-) Do you need helping building or coding Harry Potter MUSH |
